The department of economics is one of the pioneering departments at the elegant arts and Science College. The department of economics was established in the year 2021. by providing an under graduate degree in economics, we aims to educate the students about how choices are made by consumers, firms and how these decisions aggregate into economic wide phenomena.  The department of economics offers an undergraduate course with wide specialization to economics which include fiscal, financial, international etc.

About the Course

BA Economics is three year graduation programme with six semesters that follows the syllabus designed by University of Calicut under choice based credit and semester system for undergraduate curriculum. Economics about choice and the impact of our choices on each other. Along with core subject the course also includes common English, a second language with Micro and Macroeconomics as core subject and complimentary subjects as Modern Indian History & Indian Constitution and politics. 3^rd & 4^th semesters concentrated on Micro Economics ll, Macroeconomics ll, quantitative techniques for Economic analysis l &ll. The 5^th and 6^th semesters are solely focused on different fields of Economics including fiscal Economics, Indian Economic Development, Economics of capital market, mathematical Economics, financial Economics, international Economics, development of Economic thought, Economics of growth and development and an elective course.
