The Department of commerce and Management Studies is one of the pioneering Departments at The Elegant Arts and Science College. The B.Com. & BBA programme was started with the objective of introducing innovative and modern curriculum , maintaining academic discipline and imparting of holistic education .The department aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the business world. The department of commerce offers an undergraduate course with wide specialization to commerce which include management accounting , Economics , Mathematics , Cooperate law etc. The syllabus structured leads the students aspiring for higher professional degree namely CA , CMA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA, M.com etc.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Bcom & BBA is a 3 year graduation programme with six semesters that follows the syllabus designed by University of Calicut under choice based credit and semester system for undergraduate curriculum. Along with core subject the course also includes common English, a second language and business management, Economics, Financial accounting and marketing management as core and complementary subjects. The 3rd , 4th , 5th and 6th semesters are solely concentrated on different fields in commerce including basic numerical skills, professional business skills, business regulation , corporate accounting, Human resource management, entrepreneurship development, banking and insurance, cost accounting, corporate regulation, quantitative techniques, accounting for management, business research methods, income tax law and accounts , auditing and besides this 5th and 6th semesters include course in specialization in Computer Application (B.Com) Finance (BBA) and an academic project and an industrial visit.
